Doug Emhoff and Jill Biden were both invited to attend as guests of President Biden’s State of the Union Speech.
As they sat in the audience, Doug couldn’t help but notice how elegant and poised Jill was. She sat with her legs crossed and her hands folded in her lap, nodding thoughtfully as the president spoke.
As the speech drew to a close, the lights in the chamber dimmed and a hush fell over the crowd. Jill turned to Doug and smiled nervously.
He glanced over his shoulder to make sure no one was watching, then leaned in and pressed his lips to Jill’s. She was surprised at first, but then she felt a warm rush of pleasure course through her body. It was as if they had both been waiting for this moment for a long time.
After the speech, Doug and Jill found themselves standing outside the Capitol building, watching the stars twinkle overhead. They talked for hours, laughing and sharing stories about their lives. It was as if they had known each other for years.
As they parted ways, Doug leaned in to kiss Jill once more. She smiled, feeling giddy and light-headed, and whispered, “I think this is the start of something special.”
