After one more person tweeted a pretty funny joke about covid, the EU commission decided that enough was enough and that it was finally time to take the necessary measures to protect freedom of speech.

In an unexpected remark, the EU commission president said: “These tweets are a danger to our democracy”. She continued by saying that “letting anyone express themselves like that, or even joking is really really dangerous”.

“Can you imagine that on Twitter, some people spread scientific studies for which there is no consensus! It’s not information until the science is settled!” she screamed. “We must fight misinformation at any cost!”

Of course, a platform hosting videos in which journalists ask questions to billionaires that the billionaires don’t like, is deeply unacceptable. We welcome this long awaited decision and are grateful to be carefully protected.
